Well Dweller Time Trials Guide
Beat all 10 Well Dweller Time Trials with ability checks, statue locations, extra-time settings and reward routes. Restart quickly and find missed pickups.

To beat Well Dweller Time Trials, check the route's movement abilities, add time in the gameplay options if the timer is the obstacle, and use the restart prompt at the bottom left during an attempt. The PC assist setting adds up to 30 seconds. Clear the course, then collect the item behind the door near its bird statue: winning the trial and taking its reward are two steps.
There are ten trial locations. Start with the row for your current area. A trial you can enter now may be easier after Hover or Endless Climb; a missed reward may instead be waiting outside the course.
Add time and restart without leaving the challenge
Open Options, find the Time Trials time allowance in the gameplay settings and select the extra time you want. The PC game records list Default, +1, +2, +4, +10 and +30 seconds. If you consistently miss by a little, try +4; use a larger allowance to learn a route before returning to your preferred setting.
During the trial, read the bottom-left restart prompt and hold the indicated input. With the Xbox controller layout, players identify it as hold Y. Follow the prompt for keyboard bindings and other controllers. You can restart after a missed jump instead of waiting for the timer or returning to a tent.
The extra-time setting changes the available time, not the movement abilities you own. If you cannot reach a ledge even without rushing, use the ability guide to resolve that gate first. For a chase through Webdrench Inn, use the Innkeeper guide: its Easy checkpoints are a separate October 2 change.
All ten statues, abilities and rewards
Tent directions locate the statue's branch; follow the region's connected rooms rather than measuring a straight line across the map. The setups below combine recorded early routes with later return options.
Scroll sideways to compare all columns.
| Area | Find the statue | Movement setup | Reward behind the door |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Bog | From the left tent, follow the right, down, then left branch | Starting run, jump and slide | Spirit |
| Night Garden | Left of the starting tent, above a long wall | Slingshot and Climb | Trinket slot |
| The Drains | Two rooms west of the central tent, then upward | Early: Slingshot and Climb. Easier return: Hover and Endless Climb | Fish Hook trinket |
| Desiccated Castle | Take the descending and western branches from the upper tent | Climb and wall jumps | Trinket slot |
| Midnight Drench | East of the upper tent, toward Webdrench Inn | Climb and Hover | Spirit |
| Hunter's Cabin | The upper eastern branch from the central tent | Slingshot, Climb and Hover | Spirit |
| Autumn Forest | Take the ferris-wheel route above and east of the left tent, then turn west | Hover and Climb | Spirit |
| The Docks | Climb through the rooms above the right tent, then turn left | The course uses falling and sliding | Trinket slot |
| Dollmaker's House | Below and right of the upper tent | Bubble launches and starting movement | Workshop Token |
| Gravenvalley | Follow the high western branch from the tent | Slingshot; Endless Climb is a useful later return option | Trinket slot |
The four spirit rewards belong to The Bog, Midnight Drench, Hunter's Cabin and Autumn Forest. If Full Flock is unfinished, checking those four reward rooms is more targeted than revisiting every trial. The 20-spirit location guide separates these from the other 16 statues and gives the Night Garden return point. For Fish Hook, compare the name with the full trinket list.
A route you can finish with your current abilities
For The Bog, concentrate on the running line, low passages and jumps. Extra midair actions can introduce a pause where a straightforward jump or slide already works. Complete it when you first find it if the movement feels comfortable.
For Night Garden, place the matchstick where you need the extra height, then bounce and climb. When repeated attempts lose time at the same wall, practice that transition rather than changing your entire equipment set. Watch the Night Garden recording.
For The Drains, there is a recorded early clear in Episode 2 of Gabe and the Goat's run, at 33:29, with Fish Hook collected at 34:06. This happens before later Hover and Endless Climb unlocks. Those upgrades are a comfortable return setup, rather than a reason to assume the early route is impossible.
Choose the early approach if you want Fish Hook now and can execute the matchstick-and-wall transitions. Choose a later return if climbing stamina or repeated setup jumps are consuming your available time. Mark the statue before leaving so the return trip has a clear destination.
Solve the obstacle that costs the attempt
Scroll sideways to compare all columns.
| What goes wrong | Change on the next attempt |
|---|---|
| A tall wall exhausts climbing stamina | Bounce from a planted matchstick or return with Endless Climb. |
| You drift short of the next platform | Start Hover after the jump and aim at the landing, rather than hovering from the floor. |
| A bubble launch misses its target | Change your approach position so the launch points toward the next surface. |
| Spikes repeatedly interrupt the run | Learn that section with extra time and use the restart prompt after a failed attempt. |
| You finish but the collectible count does not change | Return to the statue's room and inspect the newly opened reward door. |
In Autumn Forest, the difficult combination is a falling platform followed by rotating spike hazards. Use a short pause to line up the next Hover crossing, then move before the platform disappears. The 04:30 video chapter shows that section.
In Midnight Drench, follow the upward wall-and-bubble sequence; Hover connects the launches. The 02:24 chapter helps identify the next landing. In The Docks, learn the drop path before trying to save time at its low passages.
Starts at the verified 04:30 Autumn Forest chapter. Watch the landings, then use the ability and reward checks above for your own attempt.
Reward cleanup and camera problems
After clearing a trial, go through its reward door and take the collectible. Free a spirit by hitting its statue, then bring it back to Night Garden. Pick up a slot or token directly. For a 100% run, record the reward you actually collected in the completion checklist.
Camera stops following: test the zoom
If Glimmer launches upward but the camera stays behind, test the camera zoom before changing your jump route. On Steam, install the September 26 update or later: the developer lists a fix for camera tracking in certain trials at a wide zoom.
- Note your current camera zoom and retry the same course after updating. Use the same bubble or wall transition to compare tracking.
- If it still fails, return to the camera options, choose a closer view instead of the widest zoom and restart the course. This is a settings test based on the developer's description, not an additional confirmed patch.
- If tracking improves, practice with that setting. If it still fails, record the platform, installed version, zoom and exact launch where Glimmer leaves the screen; include a short clip when reporting the issue.
For PS5, Xbox or Switch, check the console's installed update before testing. The Steam announcement establishes the PC fix; the platform diagnosis explains what to compare on another edition. Extra time helps with a visible route, while a closer-view test addresses a camera that is losing the character.
Sources and review date
Camera guidance reviewed October 19, 2026 against the September 26 developer announcement. The closer-view comparison is an editorial diagnostic step inferred from the stated wide-zoom trigger. The route and PC assist records below retain their October 10 review.
Checked October 10, 2026 using the author's trial recording and illustrated routes, statue landmarks, the linked release-run chapters and PC time-allowance records. Restart inputs are cross-checked with the September discussion and the October prompt explanation.
The route grouping, failure-to-action table and early-versus-return choice are our editorial synthesis. The source video was published September 22; we checked its chapter links, rather than recording an original playthrough.
